Resource Abstract:
This map depicts both the bedrock geology and the general ages and distribution of LateTertiary and Quaternary surficial deposits in the Maverick Mountain Quadrangle (see Figure 1).Mapping of the surficial deposits was based both on field observations and interpretation of colorI :30,000-scale aerial photographs (taken in 1996) obtained from the Tonto National Forest inPhoenix. Field work was performed during January to April, 1998, and was continuous withmapping in the Lion Mountain quadrangle and the Boulder Mountain quadrangle.Map 1:24,000 scale and report.
