Resource Abstract:
Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology, Map 127. A 1:24,000 scale Geologic Map of the Frenchmen Mountain Quadrangle, Clark County, NV. Detailed geologic mapping by S.B. Castor, J.E. Faulds, S.M. Rowland, and C.M. dePolo. C.D. Henry performed 40Ar/39Ar dating on samples collected during mapping. The 40Ar/39Ar dating was performed at laboratories at the New Mexico Institute of Technology and University of Nevada, Las Vegas. This map benefited from rigorous reviews by R.E. Anderson, R.G. Bohannon, and A.R. Ramelli. Discussions with L.S. Beard, Vicki Langenheim, E.M. Duebendorfer, and E.I. Smith. Colonel S.A. Arrington, Captain R.J. Brown, and Sergeant Votaw of the U.S. Air Force provided access to Nellis Air Force Base. Partial funding for this research was provided by the STATEMAP Program of the U.S. Geological Survey (grant numbers 1434-94-A-1242 and 1434-HQ-97-AG-01766).
